websites > Don Kelley, coach, Lincoln Pius X: Kelley coached boys and girls state championships at Lincoln Pius X. He coached six-man football and basketball at Ohiowa from 1959 to 1961 before becoming the boys basketball coach at Norfolk Catholic. He moved on to Lincoln Pius X where he coached boys basketball from 1968 to 1980, advancing to the state tournament five times and winning the state championship in 1974. In 1985, he became the girls coach, leading the Thunderbolts to five state tournament appearances in seven years and winning the state title in 1991 and 1992. His combined boys and girls coaching record is 371-188
websites > Dennis Logan--Dennis Logan/Dan Newmyer, officials, North Platte: They officiated together for 40 years, so they will be inducted into the Hall of Fame together. They began officiating basketball while students at Doane College in the late 1940s and they retired in the late 1980s. They began officiating football games with Hall of Fame referee Dick Thompson in 1956. They officiated at the state basketball tournament from 1964 to 1968 and refereed the 1984 Shrine Bowl football game. They also worked many state football playoffs and small-college games.

websites > Stan Parker, athlete: A 1982 graduate of Bellevue East, Parker excelled at football where he lettered for three years for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and was an Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention in 1986. At Bellevue East he excelled in wrestling and track as well, going undefeated (25-0) in wrestling in 1982 and winning the state championship. He also won the Class A discus in 1981. His throw of 191 feet, 2 inches topped the all-time charts at the time, and his throw of 194-1 in 1982 was the second-longest throw in the nation that year. He was drafted in the ninth round of the NFL draft by the New York Giants
websites > Doug Phelps, athlete: A 1975 gradaute of Hastings High School, Phelps was the first Nebraskan to clear the 7-foot barrier in the high jump. He won three straight gold medals in the high jump at the state meet and, his senior season, broke the state record five times. He also was a three-year, three-sport letterman for the Tigers, competing in football and basketball. He earned All-Big 10 and all-state honorable mention in football and basketball. He was the 1975 Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star Athlete of the Year. At the University of Nebraska, he was a three-year letterman in track and the 1978 Big Eight indoor and outdoor champion in the high jump.
websites > Jim Puetz, coach, Columbus Scotus: Puetz compiled a 236-96-6 record coaching football for 34 years, 31 at Columbus Scotus. His teams won state championships in 1984 and 1993. websites > Virginia (Stahr) Gee, athlete: The Big Eight Female Athlete of the Year in 1989, Stahr started her career at Centennial High School where she earned 12 varsity letters before her graduation in 1985 when she was the Lincoln Journal Star Athlete of the Year. Stahr&#8217;s Centennial volleyball teams had a combined 80-11 record, going 24-0 and winning the Class C-1 state championship her senior year. She was all-state in basketball her junior and senior years and qualified for the state track meet in 12 events during her high school years. She played volleyball at the University of Nebraska, playing for four Big Eight Conference championship teams that had a combined record of 116-20. She played on the 1989 national runner-up team, earning Big Eight Player of the Year and NCAA All-Tournament Team honors. She earned All-American honors in 1988 and 1989.
